Juglans nigra. American black walnut is a hardwood that is native to North America.
It has a rich, chocolate brown color and a straight grain pattern. The wood is strong, durable and decay-resistant. It is also prized for its rich, dark color and unique grain patterns, which can make for very attractive woodwork.
The wood is also known for being heavy, hard, and stiff. The wood density is about 660 kg/m3. The wood is also easy to work with and takes stains and finishes well.
The American black walnut tree can grow up to 100 feet tall and 4-5 feet in diameter.
