Description

Tasmanian Oak is not a species on its own, it’s the commercial name of Victorian Ash, Alpine Ash, Mountain Ash which are very similar to each other.

Eucalyptus delegatensis or Eucalyptus gigantean is the Apline Ash that grows in the cold climate areas of Tasmania, eastern Victoria and south eastern New South Wales.

Eucalyptus regnans is the Mountain Ash growing in the mountain areas of Tasmania and eastern Victoria.

Both species have very similar properties and appearance and are used for a wide variety of uses from furniture to skis.
